The Best Golf Bachelor Party Destinations
A helpful guide for a critical decision.
If the bachelor party doesn’t come with at least 36 holes, we don’t want it.
Then again, if the bachelor party doesn’t also come with a damn good time away from the course, we… also don’t want it.
What we’ve put together here is a rundown of cities that strike that elusive balance, offering memorable golf by day and plenty to get into after you’ve tucked away your clubs for the afternoon.
Location matters—so these suggestions are mostly in sizable cities with access to bars, good eats, and other lively experiences. Whether you’re looking to anchor your trip on some real, elite golf, or just find a cluster of good tracks near ample nightlife, we’ve got you covered.
Charleston
With golf at Harbour Town Golf Links, Charleston Muni, and The Links at Stono Ferry
There are a few ways to go about this, but for an unforgettable approach to the trip in two legs, you’ll first head to Hilton Head Island and the home of the RBC Heritage for a majestic and serene 18 holes carved out of the swampland. A masterpiece by the occasionally mean-spirited Pete Dye, Harbour Town is on the pricier side, so this may work best as a sort of trip before the trip, a meeting of the sickos willing to shell out some $400 or more—gulp, apparently as high as $650 in summer 2025—for a greens fee. (Luckily for us, that equated to exactly one foursome).
After day one, hop in a rental car for a two-hour trip to Charleston, where you’ll be joined by the rest of your crew. Charleston Muni may be the quintessential spot for relaxed, team-style golf. It’s got quirk in spades, diabolical green slopes, and a homey little pro shop staffed with friendly people. Charleston is not short on great golf—so if you’re looking to round out your schedule (or if you’re skipping Harbour Town), it’s worth looking into The Links at Stono Ferry, a fun layout with a couple scenic holes along the river.
Could you skip all the rigmarole and simply do a stay and play instead at Kiawah Island, an hour outside Charleston? Of course you could. But that’d make your voyage more golf trip than golf-infused bachelor party, and for a journey like that, buddy, you’re going to need a different list.
Lake Tahoe
With golf at Old Greenwood, Coyote Moon, and Grays’ Crossing
Not many bachelor party experiences can deliver on all fronts the way a trip to Lake Tahoe does. It mixes incredible golf, scenic surrounds, access to water, and some gambling and nightlife that lends itself to stories you may only tell again in the strict presence of your fellow groomsmen.
You may opt to do this trip in two parts, spending a night or two in the casino country that is Reno—which is where you’ll likely be flying into, anyway—before heading to one of the most underrated golf havens in America, Truckee, California. The latter provides drivable access to a handful of courses. It’s hard to find a bad one, to be honest, but Old Greenwood (home of the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship), Coyote Moon, and Gray’s Crossing are among the favorites.

In contrast to Reno life, Truckee is a chill little mountain town, among the more reserved locations on this list, but its assortment of very fun dive bars are well trafficked by both locals and outgoing vacationers from the coast of Cali. You’re a short drive from Lake Tahoe and one of the most incredibly scenic days on a boat you can experience—to keep the spirit of golf alive, swing by billionaire’s row for a view of Tiger Woods’ lakeside mansion.
Scottsdale
With golf at Wekopa, Southern Dunes, and Eagle Mountain
In Scottsdale, you can punch a 3-iron in any direction and happen upon a golf course. There are many options, and while not every track offers true quality—and the rumors of price-gouging can sometimes ring true—there’s a nice mix of up-scale and just-give-me-18-holes-and-a-cooler-full-of-col’-beers.
Likely unnecessary disclaimer: Don’t do it during the summer. Just don’t.
Additional likely unnecessary note: Plan your trip around the Waste Management Open to really take it to the next level. The timing—the WM annually lands on the second weekend in February—is picture-perfect both from a weather perspective and for a bachelor party tied to a spring or early-summer wedding.
A few courses to consider: Wekopa, Southern Dunes, Eagle Mountain, and Camelback. There are a few stay-and-play packages that include not only on-resort golf, but also an on-resort casino.
Cancun
With golf at an all-inclusive resort
There’s something to be said for the convenience of an all-inclusive, and for groups with a few people who’d rather do their bachelor partying at a swim-up bar than across a few acres of well-kept green land, there’s also something to be said for the flexibility.
Options are plentiful, but some of the top spots in Cancun include Moon Palace, Iberostar Playa Paraiso, and Dreams Cancun.
A key here is to find a place where tee times are easy to come by and the golf is right on property, so you can turn the resort grounds into your personal golf paradise. Need to settle a match that remained even through 18? Turn around and hop back on 1’s tee box. Got a couple of guys feeling the urge for a quick sunset 9 after a day at the pool? Make it happen.
Las Vegas
With golf at Cascata, Bali Hai, and Paiute Golf Resort
Vegas, baby! No list of bachelor party locales would be complete without it. And the good news is that there actually is some quality golf here—if you can peel your crew off the Strip long enough to swing a club.
For a signature round, head to Cascata, a course draped over desert canyons with a literal waterfall running through it. For easy access and atmosphere, Bali Hai brings tropical vibes on the Strip, while Paiute offers three Pete Dye tracks about 30 minutes out, with epic mountain views and zero homes lining the fairways.

And if you’ve got cash to burn, there’s always Shadow Creek, the $1,250 round reserved for the highest or rollers.
San Diego
With golf at Torrey Pines, Coronado Muni, and Encinitas Ranch
A bachelor party anchored on a US Open venue—or its slightly more playable sibling—sounds like one we’d like to attend. For the money and ability to actually get a tee time, it’s very hard to beat a morning along the Pacific at Torrey Pines. The North’s fairways are a bit more forgiving than the South’s, but both offer pristine conditions and picturesque views. If you opt for the North, you won’t be left wanting for anything other than getting to relive Tiger’s one-legged putt in 2008.
San Diego’s upside doesn’t end there. There’s more great golf in the form of Coronado Muni, Encinitas Ranch, and Balboa Park, among others. And you’ll want to schedule a beach day or two, as well—try bouncing around the beach bars overlooking Pacific Beach or, for a more relaxed vibe, hit up Ocean Beach.
Boston
With golf at Granite Links, George Wright, and Braintree Municipal
There’s nothing like summer along the harbor, and when the season is right, Boston checks all the boxes for food and experience. For starters, it’s a pretty safe bet that every person in your group, baseball fan or not, will roll with the idea of an evening among the massholes at Fenway. Add dinner and drinks along the Harbor, and your weekend is off and running.
But the reason Beantown makes this particular list boils down, mostly, to a course named Granite Links, about a half hour from downtown. You’ll get incredible views of Boston, a well-put together piece of golf property, a fun and challenging layout, and a scene of a clubhouse patio. Many an afternoon cocktail has been laid to rest on its elevated surface overlooking the course, Boston’s skyline doing its thing off in the distance.
For a round two, hit Granite again (it boasts 27 holes in all) if you dare—or mix it up with the great George Wright muni, Braintree Muni, or Shaker Hills.
“You’ll get incredible views of Boston, a well-put together piece of golf property, a fun and challenging layout, and a scene of a clubhouse patio.”
Chicago
With golf at The Glen Club and Cog Hill
From Beantown to the city with the big silver bean. Here’s why Chicago makes a great city for a golf-centric bachelor party: It’s Chicago.
Chicago in the summer remains undefeated, and there’s enough golf to get the job done. The move is probably one 18-hole round outdoors, for which you may have to travel a bit—choose from tracks like The Glen Club and Cog Hill—and perhaps another inside one of the many simulator bars that have sprung up across downtown. If time and location allow, throw in a walk to Diversey Driving Range by the lake.
Away from the course, you’ll have a field day eating and drinking your way around one of the best cities in the world. The lake is open for business. And a day trip to Wrigley is a must.
Palm Springs
With golf at Silver Rock, Desert Willow, PGA West, and La Quinta
Palm Springs is a haven for decked out vacation rentals that serve as the foundation for a week of golf trip luxury. If your gang is into backyard relaxation and low-grade competition, there are options with pickleball, hoops, beach volleyball, ping-pong, a putting green, and more—sometimes all on the same property.

Away from your pad, you’ll find a city seemingly composed of 25% golf course. There are the headline grabbers—PGA West, Silver Rock, the Mountain Course at La Quinta—but there are plenty of others worth your time. For a scenic and pristinely conditioned public that sits somewhere between world-class architecture and local muni on the price scale, we highly recommend Desert Willow. The Firecliff course, in particular, provides truly top-tier conditioning and scenery, not to mention service.
Myrtle Beach
With golf at Caledonia, Tidewater, and True Blue
I’d put Myrtle Beach on the more relaxed side of the spectrum, as the cities on this list go, and assuming you’ll avoid the tourist traps a-plenty that sprawl across the city. Instead, opt for snagging a big-ass two-story with direct beach access, getting after it on the golf course daily, and grilling out and hanging on a massive patio by night. That’s good living.
When it comes to golf, you’ll have your pick of a gigantic litter, many of them beautifully cut from the marshland. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, from the dimented brain of Mike Strantz, is a top contender. As are Tidewater, True Blue, and Heathland.
Ok fine, there is one tourist trap we recommend. Hit up one of the roughly one-billion mini golf courses after your round. There’s not much as fun as getting wildly competitive on some putt-putt, perhaps with a few bucks on the line.
Austin
With golf at Lions Municipal, Lost Pines, and Butler Pitch and Putt
Austin might be the perfect storm for a golf-infused bachelor party. It’s got a deep roster of golf courses, some of the best food in the country, and a nightlife scene that can be as rowdy or relaxed as you want it to be.
Start with Lions Municipal, a no-frills, historic course that’s walkable, affordable, and a rite of passage in Austin golf. For a more resort-style experience, head about 30 minutes out to Lost Pines, where you’ll find a scenic track weaving through natural surrounds and, at last check, about a million deer.

But no trip to Austin is complete without a round (or three) at Butler Pitch and Putt, the city’s beloved 9-hole par 3 course. Bring a wedge and putter and don’t bother trying for a tee time. Music plays from every direction, strangers become playing partners, and in true Austin fashion, the vibe is as much beer garden as it is golf course.
Off the course, post-round BBQ is a must, as are live music and dive bars. Sixth Street, Rainey, and East Austin all bring something different to the table, and you’re just about always walking distance from a good time.
