Greens Fees at Every Top 100 Public Golf Course in the U.S.

A starter kit for your 2025 golf trip planning.

Top 100 rates

A month ago, we published a composite ranking of the top 100 public golf courses in the U.S., an average across the three prominent rankers—Golf Digest, GOLF, and Golfweek. Today, we’ve updated that list with peak greens fees at every course that appears on those three lists, from $38 Hideout in Monticello, Utah, to $1,250 Shadow Creek in Las Vegas.

You can download the full spreadsheet here.

Of course, we’ve also created the above visualization as a simpler reference. Should you choose to download the raw data, you’ll get all 146 golf courses that appear on any of the three lists—not just the composite top 100—plus links out to where we found our data. There are also columns for city, state, and region, plus individual tabs for the composite rankings and for each publication. Finally, the spreadsheet includes a few more words about methodology.

Setting out to find clear rates, as it turns out, is not quite as straight forward as you—and certainly we—would like. A massive shoutout to golf courses that clearly and transparently spell out their peak-season rates. Many others are more complicated, for one of two main reasons:

  • Their fees are tied into stay-and-play rates, which are variable and/or require a discussion with the club.
  • They utilize dynamic pricing, meaning greens fees fluctuate based on demand.

In cases of dynamic pricing, we’ve done our best to sort through upcoming dates and find the highest—again, aiming for peak rates here.

Despite the above caveats, we hope this data provides as a launching point for your own research and, ultimately, your golf adventures in 2025 and beyond.
